Dr. Clarita Wisnia, Ph.D., is a bilingual psychologist with over 30 years of experience specializing in family and child therapy for individuals recovering from trauma and maltreatment. In addition to maintaining a private practice, she has served as Staff Psychologist for the San Fernando Valley Child Guidance Clinic and Saint John's Child and Family Development Center, where she developed and led therapeutic programs addressing the complex needs of individuals and families affected by early-life trauma
She is trained in Intensive Short-Term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and holds certification in anxiety disorders. Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Wisnia served as Consultant to The Village Family Services for five years and as Acting Director of Training in Psychology at St. John’s Hospital, roles that have deepened her expertise in couples treatment, short-term therapies, and life transition issues
Dr. Wisnia believes that childhood experiences create the template for adult life, and she partners with clients to explore these templates in order to foster more fulfilled lives. Fluent in English and Spanish, she offers individual, couples, and family counseling tailoring her approach to meet each client’s unique journey toward healing and growth
